Clinical Deputy Manager – Radyr, Cardiff
Salary: £41,190
Hours: 35 hours per week (including an average of 12 hours per week working on the floor as a nurse)
A Clinical Deputy Manager is required for a 31‑bedded, purpose‑built nursing service supporting people with physical disabilities and complex healthcare needs in Radyr, Cardiff.
You will work closely with the Registered Manager and play a key role in the day‑to‑day clinical coordination of the service. The role includes leading and supervising a large staff team to deliver high‑quality, person‑centred care that promotes dignity, safety, independence, and wellbeing. You will also collaborate with the local community, GPs, and external professionals to ensure residents are supported to live as full and meaningful a life as possible.

- Support the Service Manager in leading the staff team to deliver safe, high‑quality care.
- Coordinate and guide the nursing team to provide person‑centred support that upholds equality, dignity, privacy, and independence.
- Ensure full compliance with all regulatory and legislative requirements.
- Oversee the smooth running of nursing units and communicate effectively with external health professionals.
- Provide hands‑on clinical leadership and supervision.
- Hold accountability for infection control implementation and auditing.
- Act as an approachable role model with a visible presence across the service.
- Monitor and maintain high standards of nursing and care provision.
- Manage admissions and discharges in line with contractual requirements.
- Support recruitment and ensure new staff are onboarded effectively.
- Conduct probation reviews and ensure regular supervision and annual appraisals.
- Mentor staff and ensure mentors are trained and supported.
- Respond to complaints and suggestions within required timescales.
- Support positive culture change and employee engagement.
- Provide robust leadership in the absence of the Service Manager and elevate issues where needed.
- Registered Nurse with a valid NMC pin
- Experience as a Deputy Manager, Clinical Lead, or Senior Nurse
- Experience working with individuals with physical disabilities
- Strong understanding of person‑centred care
- Skilled in assessing resident needs and developing supportive care plans
- Committed to delivering high standards of care and promoting resident wellbeing
