Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner – Adult Services
Are you passionate about supporting autistic adults and individuals with learning disabilities to reach their full potential? Autism Anglia, a well‑established independent charity, is seeking a Positive Behaviour Practitioner to join our dedicated and compassionate team.
Using the clinical frameworks of PBS, this role will work within a multidisciplinary framework to provide behavioural and wellbeing services for adults with autism and other complex needs.
Location:
Colchester and surrounding areas – access to own car essential.
Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 per annum depending on experience.
Hours:
Full‑time, 37 hours per week. Please note, we do not offer sponsor ships and candidates must have the eligibility to work in the UK.
The Role
- Conduct and contribute to Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) assessments, including functional analyses, quality of life, and person‑centred planning.
- Design, implement, and evaluate PBS interventions based on current best practice and national guidance.
- Analyse behavioural data and outcomes to inform decision‑making and continuous improvement.
- Deliver PBS training and workshops internally and externally; contribute to the development of new training materials.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, families, and external professionals to promote positive outcomes.
- Support the development and monitoring of organisational policies, procedures, and record‑keeping systems.
- Stay up to date with developments in PBS through supervision, appraisal, and ongoing professional development.
- Promote Autism Anglia’s values, safeguarding principles, and commitment to equality, inclusion, and best practice in all areas of work.
- Hold a degree or equivalent, or can demonstrate significant experience and knowledge of PBS within a relevant setting.
- Have instructor level qualification for delivering training in restrictive physical interventions and can formulate, train staff in, and implement PBS interventions.
- Have practical experience working with people who have autism and/or learning disabilities.
- Have experience and knowledge of conducting a wide range of PBS assessments and implementing behaviour support strategies.
- Hold a full clean UK driving licence and have access to their own vehicle.
