Position: ADMINISTRATIVE TEAM LEADER

The Occupational Health Service (OHS) consists of a multi-disciplinary team with a professional range of medical, health and psychological services. By providing advice and guidance on health-related matters, the OHS supports the Council in its statutory duty as the employer to protect the health and welfare of its employees. OHS provides the following benefits:

  • Independent, impartial advice to management and employees on the effects of work on health.
  • Pre-employment Health Assessments.
  • Driver Assessments.
  • Recommendations on appropriate reasonable adjustments within the workplace to help staff to remain in work.
  • Appropriate health surveillance to fulfil statutory requirements, e.g. Hand Arm Vibration assessments, audiometry, respiratory testing.
  • Improve the attendance and performance of the workforce by assisting in the management of sickness absence.
  • Advice and assessment of eligibility for ill health retirement (IHR) and medical redeployment.
About the job

The purpose of this full-time role is to assist in managing and improving the Occupational Health administrative provision, ensuring quality of service delivery and raising standards. The Administrative Team Leader will report to the Occupational Health Manager.

The successful candidate will have responsibility for :

  • Ensuring the Occupational Health accounts and recharges across the Council are processed accurately.
  • Responsible for the preparation of management information and performance indicators. It is therefore essential that the successful candidate is able to demonstrate a good level of numeracy, proven organisational skills and logical approach to tasks.
  • To ensure the building is compliant with all statutory inspections and monitoring arrangements. Along with day-to-day responsibility for management of the building.
  • The successful candidate will have responsibility for ensuring that medical confidentiality is adhered to at all times and that medical records are correctly stored in accordance with GDPR regulations and the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Guidelines.
What We Are Looking For From You

You will be a skilled senior administrator with experience of working in a busy office environment, leading a team and be committed to providing high quality administrative support to the OHS Clinicians and the wider workforce.

You will have experience of managing high volumes of work and have the ability to prioritise varying tasks and workload, to align with service targets and deadlines within specified time frames. You will be competent in use of IT, including Microsoft Packages and Sharepoint and have experience in the use of databases.

This post is temporary until 31/03/2027.

Requests may only be approved by the relevant Director/ Assistant Director/ Chief Officer or senior nominated officer graded no lower than OM2 or in the case of schools based staff the Headteacher / Governing Body.
