An exciting position has arisen for a Site Coordinator to join the Division of Psychological Medicine & Clinical Neurosciences at Cardiff University, based in Cardiff University's flagship Hadyn Ellis Building.

We are looking for a motivated and highly organised Site Coordinator to support the delivery of the Mental Health Goals (MHG) Omics Psychosis programme within the Centre for Neuropsychiatric Genetics and Genomics at Cardiff University. Working closely with the Programme Manager and clinical teams, you will coordinate research activity across participating NHS and academic sites, ensuring high-quality, efficient and compliant delivery of study procedures.

In this role, you will oversee local implementation of biosampling protocols, support staff training, and maintain robust systems for participant recruitment, biosampling, and data collection. You will build effective relationships with key stakeholders across Cardiff University, NHS organisations, and external collaborators, providing clear guidance on site processes and troubleshooting operational issues as they arise. The post would suit someone with substantial experience of research or project coordination (ideally in mental health or health research), excellent communication skills, and a proactive, problem-solving approach.

The Mental Health Goals (MHG) Omics programme is a landmark UK-wide initiative, funded by the UK Government, aiming to revolutionise our understanding and treatment of severe mental illness. Building on significant advances in genomics, proteomics, metabolomics, and digital health, the project will establish the world’s largest multi-omic cohort of people with psychosis and mood disorders, linked to extensive clinical and real-world health data.

This new national infrastructure, developed in close collaboration with individuals with lived experience, the NHS, academia, and industry, will accelerate the discovery of biological mechanisms, identify biomarkers for personalised treatments, and make the UK an attractive place globally for mental health innovation. Led by a collaborative, friendly and highly expert team spanning Cardiff University, the University of Cambridge, Cambridge and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust, the University of Edinburgh, and King’s College London, MHG Omics offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a truly pioneering programme with the potential to change lives and shape the future of mental healthcare.

This post is based at the Hadyn Ellis Building, Cathays campus.

This post is full-time (35 hours per week), available from 1st October 2026 and is fixed term until 31 August 2029.

Salary: £33,951 - £36,636 per annum (Grade
5). Appointments to roles at Cardiff University are usually made at bottom of scale unless in exceptional circumstances.
