Job overview

The Patient pathway coordinator will actively manage the administrative processes attached to patient pathways, ensuring a smooth and efficient service for both the multidisciplinary team and patients, to deliver a high-quality administration service, a positive patient experience, and excellent customer service.

To assist with the running of effective MDT’s across paediatric specialties where appropriate. To proactively track patient pathways to ensure all next steps are in place. To work as part of a team and autonomously to meet the demands of the service. To provide essential admin support.

Main duties of the job

We are seeking a motivated and highly organised Patient Pathway coordinator in Paediatrics. The Patient Pathway coordinator will work closely with, consultants, nursing, AHP's and other admin staff within the service.

This post will also include the management and booking of all elective theatres for the service and the RTT tracking for patients on the waiting list. The post holder will be responsible for managing all elements of the elective surgical pathway and ensure patients have the relevant pre-assessments and tests carried out prior to surgery. The Patient Pathway coordinator will ensure any actions in the MDT plan are completed and will elevate when needed.

The post holder will also be responsible for providing key administrative functions to the service including managing outpatient clinic letters, monitoring email inbox's and responding to internal and external queries relating to relevant services.

There may be other duties outside of the above that will be asked of this post holder in line with job role duties and the needs of the service.

This is newly developed role within Paediatrics and exciting opportunity for someone with excellent administration skills looking to develop in their career.
