Direct Worker​/Personal Assistant

Summary

This is an external vacancy and is not employment with East Riding of Yorkshire Council.

18-year-old female seeking a female support worker (preferred) for 6 hours a week to assist with independence in the community. To aid with going to the shops, managing money and paying for items, walking in the local village, using public transport. Building up social skills as she has been isolated in the home since 2021 with online learning. To assist with routine and waking also to do an activity together.

Currently sleep is an issue but she is capable of turning this around.

A polite, quiet and caring lady. Loves animals, making slime, very creative, likes fashion, makeup, online games and board games. Diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Social Anxiety Disorder. Commencing college in September for 2 days per week so some support around this transition and hours to be discussed what suits.

Ideally someone who is patient and calm please to build up a trusting relationship.

DBS/Reference checks will be required for this post – Cost to be met by the local authority.

The Direct Payments Support Service is an in-house service provided by the East Riding of Yorkshire Council. The service promotes independent choice and inclusion, allowing our service users to employ their own care and support as needed. We support many individuals with varying abilities, assisting with advertising and recruitment for a range of roles including support workers, carers and personal assistants.
