Reporting to the Operational Manager, you will provide a specialist Job Evaluation (JE) and Reward service across the Council. This includes leading on the development, implementation, and review of JE policies, procedures, and frameworks.
Working in partnership with leaders, stakeholders, and HR colleagues, you will help shape and deliver HR strategies aligned with organisational priorities. Building strong, collaborative relationships with recognised trade unions, governing bodies, and key stakeholders will be central to your success.
You will ensure the consistent and compliant application of Job Evaluation processes across the organisation, supporting equal pay requirements and organisational change. The role also contributes to delivering a commercially focused service, including engagement with external organisations.
What We Are Looking For From YouYou will be an experienced HR professional with in-depth knowledge of local government JE schemes (including GLPC), factor-based evaluation, job matching, and governance processes. You will be confident operating both operationally and strategically within a large, complex organisation.
You will have experience working with senior managers and trade unions, alongside a strong understanding of employment law, HR policies, and best practice implementation.
A confident communicator, you will quickly build effective professional relationships and navigate complex issues with clarity, sound judgement, and a solutions-focused approach.

Additional informationThis post is part time and will work 14.80 hours per week, 52 weeks per year. The salary shown however relates to 37 hours per week and will therefore be pro-rata'd accordingly.
