An exciting opportunity has arisen within Human Resource People Services (HRPS), for a HR Data & Business Support Officer. Reporting to the HR Data & Business Support Team Leader.
The HR MI and Data function plays a key role in ensuring the organisation meets its corporate and statutory reporting requirements. Working closely with senior HR leaders and colleagues across the business, the team delivers accurate, timely, and consistent data to support decision-making, business planning, and organisational priorities.
The service provides proactive technical and data support to enable the effective and efficient running of the HR function, ensuring a joined-up approach to reporting and delivering against corporate goals.
About the jobYou will support HR operations by leading on systems, data management, and performance reporting to enable effective decision-making. This includes managing core HR systems, producing high-quality insights, and ensuring data accuracy and compliance.
You will drive improvements to processes and systems, working collaboratively with HR, IT, finance, and payroll to deliver solutions. The role also includes reporting, handling ad hoc data requests, managing invoicing, and supporting pay processes.
In addition, you will oversee key HR business activities such as planning, risk management, budget monitoring, and corporate reporting, while coordinating FOI requests, maintaining SharePoint sites, and supporting HR leadership. You will also provide support to Cardiff Academy and wider HR team functions as needed.
This post is temporary maternity cover until 10 October 2027.

What We Are Looking For From YouWe’re looking for a highly organised and detail-focused individual with experience working with HR systems and data, and the ability to turn complex information into clear, actionable insights.
You’ll be solutions-driven and proactive, confident in working collaboratively with colleagues across HR, IT, finance, and payroll to resolve issues and improve processes. A strong understanding of data accuracy, compliance, and governance is essential.
You will thrive in a fast-paced environment, able to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality work to tight deadlines. Strong communication skills are key, with the confidence to engage a range of stakeholders, including senior leaders.
