AI Engineer - Cardiff

Our client is a leading company based in central Cardiff and they are looking to hire an experienced AI Engineer to join their technical team. In this position you will lead on the design, development, and deployment of advanced AI solutions that enhance operational efficiency and support business growth. You will work closely with employees across departments and senior stakeholders to understand business requirements and guide AI development

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and deployment of AI-powered tools to improve efficiency and productivity
• Design advanced solutions including automation, RAG, and LLM-based workflows
• Collaborate with stakeholders and internal teams to identify and deliver strategic AI initiatives that deliver measurable business value and increase productivity
• Provide guidance on AI architecture, tooling, and technology direction
• Ensure systems are secure, scalable, and compliant with governance standards
• Monitor performance and continuously optimise AI systems
• Train users and create documentation to drive adoption

Skills & Experience

• 3+ years of experience in AI engineering or software engineering
• Strong Python experience
• Proven experience of building and deploying AI solutions end-to-end
• Experience with RAG and LLM-based solutions, and with workflow design (e.g. N8N, Power Automate, Lang Chain, etc.)
• Solid understanding of AI architectures and data pipelines
• Knowledge of security, compliance, and governance principles from a development perspective
• Proven mentoring and team development capabilities
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Strategic, hands-on approach with a focus on delivery

This is a hybrid role in central Cardiff, with a starting salary of up to £55,000 depending on experience.
