SAP Plant Maintenance Consultant

Salary: £53,000 - 93,000 per year

• We require a minimum of 10 years of hands‑on SAP PM / EAM consulting experience within complex, global enterprise landscapes.
• We require deep, expert‑level knowledge of Aerospace MRO processes, including line and base maintenance, engine overhaul workflows, and similar solutions.
• We require proven, hands‑on capability to configure deep asset management structures, Equipment Master Data, Maintenance Orders, task lists, and Equipment BOMs.
• We require demonstrated experience leading at least 3 full‑lifecycle SAP implementations, with strong preference for large‑scale SAP ECC to SAP S/4
  
  HANA migrations.
• We require extensive prior experience operating within the Aerospace & Defence, aviation engine manufacturing, or high‑tech military maintenance sectors.
• We require a thorough understanding of structural data model differences between SAP ECC and SAP S/4
  
  HANA Asset Management.
• We require expert proficiency in Agile delivery frameworks and SAP Activate methodologies.

• We advise, configure, and maintain our enterprise asset management environment as part of our SAP PM / MRO transformation.
• We support our digital transformation from SAP ECC to SAP S/4
  
  HANA and help ensure end‑to‑end implementation outcomes are realised across our aviation engine manufacturing, maintenance, and design operations.
• We act as strategic functional advisors and configuration experts, implementing a Clean Core architecture through Fit‑to‑Standard workshops and standard asset management solutions.
• We map high‑level aviation business goals into scalable SAP S/4
  
  HANA Asset Management blueprints.
• We design temporary operational workarounds and data bridging strategies to maintain maintenance continuity during phased SAP ECC to SAP S/4
  
  HANA rollouts.
• We evaluate legacy customisation in SAP ECC and define a roadmap toward standard SAP S/4
  
  HANA Asset Management functionality.
• We execute hands‑on configuration of SAP PM / EAM modules, including Technical Objects, Functional Locations, Equipment Master Data, and Work Centers.
• We lead and facilitate blueprinting, scoping, and Fit‑to‑Standard workshops with cross‑functional engineering and maintenance teams.
• We own the functional delivery lifecycle to realise operational efficiencies, improved maintenance scheduling, and cost savings.
• We architect and configure Maintenance Orders, Maintenance Requests/Notifications, and preventive Maintenance Plans end to end.
• We define and build complex technical asset hierarchies using Equipment BOMs and Functional Location BOMs.
• We align SAP PM configuration with Materials Management, Production Planning, and QM processes.
• We collaborate with integration teams to connect SAP PM with PLM, CAD, and MES platforms.
• We configure and optimise MRO subcontracting and refurbishment life cycles for internal and vendor‑managed engine repairs.
• We ensure all maintenance processes comply with CAA, EASA, FAA, ITAR, and AS9100 standards.
• We establish serialization, batch management, and equipment history tracking to guarantee full data genealogy for tracked engine components.
• We enforce the use of standard SAP features, standard Fiori apps, and standard APIs over custom ABAP modifications.
• We advise on SAP Asset Manager, predictive maintenance strategies, and mobile work execution.
• We work closely with the Enterprise Architect, Data Migration Leads, and external systems integrators on data standards and cutover plans.
• We author and maintain Business Blueprint documents, functional configuration rationales, testing scripts, and operational training playbooks.

We are seeking a highly specialised SAP PM / MRO Consultant for a contract role based in Cardiff with a hybrid working arrangement. This is a hands‑on opportunity to support our enterprise asset management transformation as we move from SAP ECC to SAP S/4

HANA across our aviation engine manufacturing, maintenance, and design operations. You will work with senior leadership, engineering and maintenance teams, enterprise architecture, data migration, and external integrators to deliver a Clean Core, standardised SAP landscape that is compliant with aviation and export control regulations.
