Lead Telemetry Specialist

Salary: £55,000 - 55,000 per year

• We are seeking experience shaping technology strategy and delivering large-scale technical transformation programmes.
• We need strong understanding of cloud technologies, preferably Microsoft Azure.
• We require experience integrating operational technology with enterprise data, reporting, and analytics platforms.
• We value proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and work effectively across technology and operational teams.

• We will have you act as the key interface between Telemetry Services and ICT, ensuring telemetry technologies are integrated effectively with cloud platforms, enterprise reporting, business intelligence solutions, and wider digital services.
• We will rely on you to provide strategic leadership and governance for our telemetry service and supporting technologies.
• We will expect you to develop and deliver long‑term telemetry, instrumentation, and IoT strategies aligned to our organisational objectives.
• We will have you act as the senior interface between Telemetry Services, Digital & ICT teams, and external technology partners.
• We will need you to ensure effective integration with Microsoft Azure services, data platforms, reporting tools, and future digital capabilities.

We are working with a key Civil Service organisation to recruit our next Lead Specialist Advisor for Telemetry, a unique role at an exciting time of change. We are moving to a new cloud-hosted telemetry platform, replacing a long-standing legacy solution with a modern, resilient architecture hosted within Microsoft Azure. This is a hybrid role based in Wales, offering a salary of up to £56,000 along with a civil service pension scheme with a 27.9% employer contribution, a variety of working patterns, 28 days annual leave increasing to 33 days plus 8 bank holidays, CPD opportunities, weekly well‑being time, health and well‑being support, active and sustainable travel benefits, and payment of professional membership fees relevant to the role.
