Cyber Security Engineer

Cyber Security Engineer | Hybrid / Cardiff | £62,000 - £72,000

We're looking for an experienced Security Engineer to join an established Cyber Resilience function, taking a hands-on role in strengthening security operations across a complex technology environment.

You'll work across Microsoft security technologies, cloud security, identity, vulnerability management and threat detection, while helping improve the organisation's overall cyber resilience.

What you'll be doing:

• Managing and improving Microsoft Defender and Sentinel capabilities
• Securing Azure environments and implementing effective security controls
• Managing Entra , including Conditional Access, Identity Protection and privileged access
• Supporting vulnerability management and remediation
• Implementing data protection controls using Microsoft Purview
• Supporting threat monitoring, detection and incident response
• Providing security input into technology projects and architecture decisions
• Supporting security frameworks including NCSC CAF, ISO 27001, NIST CSF and CIS Controls
• Acting as a security SME to technical and non-technical stakeholders

What we're looking for:

• Proven Security Engineer experience
• Strong Microsoft Defender and Sentinel knowledge
• Good Azure and Entra  experience
