The role

This role will involve providing expert legal advice to registered social landlords and local authority clients across Wales and England. Advocacy skills will be necessary for County Court attendances.

The role covers all aspects of tenancy enforcement arising out of nuisance behaviour, criminal activity or anti‑social behaviour and other issues to include succession, possession, defending disrepair claims, homelessness, and navigating the changes The Renting Homes (Wales) Act 2016 has brought.

The successful applicant will be required to work with and assist with the supervision of other solicitors, case managers and paralegals. Case work will include drafting court documents, negotiating with other parties, advising clients as well as advocacy.

The team works very closely with clients and are often referred to as an extension of their teams, so excellent client care skills are a must.

Skills & Qualifications

Ideally, experience of managing a caseload of landlord and tenant issues along with experience of supervising others and managing workflows. Court advocacy experience would also be a plus.

The successful candidate will need to be able to provide their own transport to meet the advocacy needs that this role requires.
