We are seeking a proactive and organised Construction Paralegal to support our growing Construction, Infrastructure & Energy team.

This is a varied role offering exposure to both contentious and non-contentious construction matters. You will work closely with partners, associates and consultants to support the delivery of high-quality legal services across the full lifecycle of construction projects.

The role is ideal for a candidate looking to build experience in construction law within a commercial, fast-paced and collaborative environment.

About the Team

Our Construction team is recognised for its expertise across the full life cycle of projects, from early-stage development to completion, spanning sectors including healthcare, higher education, manufacturing, and residential property. We specialise in turning complex ideas into successful outcomes, handling all aspects from acquisition and planning to construction and leasing, while managing both contentious and non-contentious matters. The team has a strong reputation for high-profile work, including major infrastructure developments and city‑centre regeneration schemes, and represents a wide range of clients, social housing providers, developers, contractors, and construction professionals in disputes across the UK.

Key Responsibilities Non-Contentious Construction Support
  • Assisting with the preparation, review and collation of construction documents including JCT, NEC and bespoke contracts.
  • Supporting the drafting of consultant appointments, collateral warranties, bonds and guarantees.
  • Preparing first drafts of ancillary documents and amendments.
  • Managing contract execution processes and maintaining document bibles.
  • Undertaking legal research on construction and regulatory matters.
  • Assisting with project due diligence and data room management.
  • Liaising with clients and third parties regarding documentation and project administration.
Contentious Construction Support
  • Assisting with adjudications, arbitrations, mediations and TCC proceedings.
  • Preparing bundles (electronic and hard copy) and managing case documentation.
  • Drafting chronologies, document summaries and schedules.
  • Supporting the preparation of submissions, witness statements and expert instructions.
  • Conducting legal research on construction disputes and procedural issues.
  • Assisting with disclosure exercises and document review.
Matter Management & Team Support
  • Opening new matters and ensuring compliance with internal risk and AML procedures.
  • Monitoring deadlines and key dates.
  • Supporting billing processes and WIP reporting.
  • Maintaining accurate file management and document control.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues across Real Estate, Corporate, Banking and Commercial teams on cross‑disciplinary matters.
Client & Team Collaboration
  • Maintaining professional and responsive communication with clients.
  • Supporting partners and associates in delivering pragmatic, commercial advice.
  • Participating in internal knowledge‑sharing and training sessions.
  • Assisting with the preparation of pitch materials and business development documentation where required.
About You

You will be an organised and motivated paralegal with a strong interest in construction law and the built environment.

Personal Specification
  • Previous experience in a commercial law firm (construction or litigation experience desirable but not essential).
  • Strong academic background.
  • Excellent drafting and document management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
