TSR Legal are pleased to be working with a well-regarded Family Law Chambers in Cardiff who are seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to join their busy and supportive team. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with solid family law experience and Legal Aid billing knowledge to play a key role supporting fee earners on a varied caseload.

You will provide hands‑on support across a range of publicly funded family matters, ensuring files are progressed efficiently and in compliance with Legal Aid requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting fee earners on Legal Aid family matters
• Preparing and submitting Legal Aid bills and claims
• Liaising with the Legal Aid Agency
• Drafting routine correspondence and legal documents
• File opening, maintenance and closing
• Managing client communications via phone and email
• Preparing bundles and court documents
• General administrative support to the Family team

• Previous experience in Family Law (essential)
• Proven Legal Aid billing/claims experience (essential)
• Strong understanding of Legal Aid processes and compliance
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• Confident communication skills
• Proactive and team‑focused approach
• Strong IT and case management system skills
