Permanent, Full-time Salary: 55,000 to 80,000 + BonusA leading UK law firm is seeking a Contentious Construction Solicitor with 4+ years' post-qualification experience to join its growing Construction team in Cardiff. This is an excellent opportunity to work on high-profile disputes and complex construction matters within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.

The Role You'll be responsible for managing a varied caseload of contentious construction matters, including:

Contract breaches, professional negligence claims, and delay disputes

Drafting and negotiating JCT, NEC, FIDIC, and bespoke construction contracts

Advising on procurement strategies, risk management, and regulatory compliance

Acting in adjudications, arbitrations, mediations, and TCC litigation

Collaborating with colleagues across real estate, banking, corporate, and dispute resolution teams

Conducting legal research and managing case documentation

Supporting business development and client relationship initiatives

Mentoring junior team members and contributing to internal training

Candidate Requirements This role is suited to a qualified solicitor with:4+ years PQE in construction law (UK-based)
Strong experience in contentious construction matters

Solid understanding of JCT, NEC, FIDIC contracts and related documentation

Exposure to adjudication, arbitration, mediation, and TCC litigation

Commercial awareness and a pragmatic approach to legal advice

Excellent communication and negotiation skillsA proactive, team-oriented mindset with mentoring experience

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
