We are looking for an Installation Team Manager covering our Central and East South Wales areas to provide on-site leadership, direction, and management of staff to ensure safe, on-time delivery of assigned fibre installations.
We’re open to speaking to strong people managers who have a sound knowledge of the industry, decision makers, proactive in the way they work - you may have experience in a similar role and might be looking for a new challenge with one of Wales fastest growing companies.
About you…
This role will require patience, commitment, strong communication skills – like many companies in this industry we're dealing with a lot of challenges especially in the supply chain, so you’ll also need resilience to deal these and come up with creative solutions.
As well as this you’ll need the ability to make sure we continue provide outstanding, proactive service at every stage of customer contact with Ogi - we are looking for a passionate individual with a track-record of continually exceeding expectations.
Ideally, we’re looking for someone with
- * A background in managing and developing a small and effective team, driving a culture of continuous improvement.
* An understanding of the Openreach network.
* Experience & knowledge of fibre including network build, FTTP installation, fibre blowing & splicing
* The ability to read a network fibre plan drawing
* Experience auditing SSOW & quality checks
* NRSWA – unit 2 & 10 – 16 certification (as well as SA001 safety overhead, SA002 safety underground, COSHH)
Overall, we need someone who is proactive in the resolution of engineering obstacles, has excellent customer focussed communication skills and is Health & Safety conscious with an eye for detail.
What you’ll be doing …
You’ll manage Installation Crews in our East and Central South Wales patch and focus on problem solving, developing solutions that enable prompt connection of the Customer, as well as liaising with the Director of Network and Service Operations where the solutions may have an impact on budget or Customer connection timeline.
Responsibility for all activities on the works within the team will be assigned to you. Equal importance to be assigned to the key areas of delivery:
Health, Safety and Environmental;
Quality; and Productivity. Main responsibilities will include
- * Contributing to overall business strategy, with a focus on customer experience and services.
* Maintain productivity objectives as set by the Director of Network and Service Operations.
* Drive excellence in HSE, Quality and Productivity.
* Liaising with Engineers with regard to managing vehicle serving requirements and schedules
* Complete individual QA and ensure Engineers carry out work in accordance with the required standards and that all Customer-Facing policies and procedures are followed.
* Ensure all customer documentation is complete with regard to post-installation customer satisfaction surveys.
* Ensure the installations teams undertake all job-specific risk assessments and method statements.
* Actively reinforce the organisation’s Health & Safety values throughout the installations teams.
* Encourage a culture where teams feel able to report Near Misses and a process that ensures Near Misses are investigated, lesson learnt and recommended actions implemented.
* Ensure that teams are undertaking daily vehicle, tools and equipment checklist (including PPE).
* Audit engineers vans/tools/equipment (including PPE) on a weekly basis.
* To act on poor performance within your team & provide a plan for improvement
* Be able to identify training needs for the team
This is a full-time field-based role, it is expected that all engineers under your management are visited on a regular basis with a view to enhancing and supporting the installations teams.
