Job Title: Maintenance Operative
Hours: 24 per week
Rate of Pay: £13.00 per hour
Location: Cardiff

• Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, swimming pool, and fitness equipment
• Monitor preventative maintenance contractors to ensure the longevity and reliability of equipment
• Address and resolve maintenance issues promptly, such as fixing leaks, electrical faults and equipment malfunctions
• Troubleshoot problems and determine the most effective solutions, coordinating with external contractors for certain repairs when necessary
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with health and safety regulations and club policies
• Conduct regular safety checks and risk assessments, reporting any hazards or non‑compliance issues to the Maintenance Manager/General Manager
• Ensure all areas of the club, including gym floors, changing rooms, and common areas, are clear, orderly and well‑maintained

• Previous experience in a maintenance role
• Strong technical skills and knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing and electrical
• Excellent problem‑solving abilities and good attention to detail
• Physical capability to perform tasks that involve lifting, bending and standing for extended periods
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Valid driving licence and own vehicle

It would be desirable to have a diploma or vocational qualification in a related field, along with knowledge and experience in plumbing and joinery. A 17th Edition Electrical qualification or equivalent would also be advantageous.
