Our Estate Services team plays a vital role in maintaining safe, clean and welcoming environments for residents across Cardiff.

At our Housing with Care schemes, you will help create a comfortable and pleasant living environment for older residents, supporting their wellbeing and independence through high standards of cleanliness and customer service.

Cardiff Council's Housing with Care Service provides high-quality accommodation for older people, enabling residents to maintain their independence while living in a safe, welcoming and supportive environment. Our schemes offer modern accommodation alongside communal facilities designed to promote wellbeing, social inclusion and quality of life.

As a cleaner, you will play an important role in ensuring residents, visitors and staff enjoy a clean, safe and welcoming environment every day.

We are looking to recruit two part-time cleaners (18.5 hours per week) to join our team.

To ensure cleaning coverage is provided throughout the day, one post will work a morning shift and the other an afternoon shift
.

Duties will include:

• Cleaning communal lounges, corridors, stairwells, lifts and entrance areas.
• Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming and dusting communal spaces.
• Cleaning internal glazing and high-contact touch points.
• Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness throughout the scheme.
• Supporting a safe, welcoming and comfortable environment for residents, visitors and staff.
• Working independently and as part of the wider Housing with Care team.

We are looking for individuals who:

• Are reliable, flexible and able to manage their workload effectively.

• Are committed to providing a high-quality service to older residents.

Previous cleaning experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.

The ability to speak other languages, in particular Welsh, and Community Languages would be an advantage.

This role is part-time at 18.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year. The advertised salary is based on a full-time role (37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year). The actual salary will be lower than the advertised salary because of the part-time hours and weeks worked.
