Join AECOM as a Technology Services Director for our UK and Ireland business unit. You will report to the Head of Streets and Technology and the Market Director – Technology, playing a key role in our senior leadership team.

Job DescriptionAs Technology Services Director you will lead the Technology Operating Unit, focusing on operational delivery, project and resource management, workload pipeline, people management and staff engagement. You will drive innovation, quality and client growth while fostering a culture of safety, ethics and inclusion.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and model AECOM’s Safety, Health & Environmental (SH&E) culture.
- Accountable for operating‑unit performance versus the financial plan – tracking revenue, margin, cost utilisation and other key metrics.
- Ensure accurate contracted pipeline revenues and complete project‑financial processes.
- Implement resource‑management processes and collaborate with other units to forecast workload and allocate resources.
- Champion equity, diversity and inclusion and communicate core values to the team.
- Support client development and growth opportunities with the Market Director – Technology.
- Attract new talent and support recruitment and retention initiatives.
- Apply AECOM governance to all operating‑unit go/no‑go processes.
- Drive change and continuous improvement for operational quality and profitability.
- Ensure project delivery and commercial excellence – on time, on budget and to client satisfaction.
- Maintain compliance with all AECOM policies and uphold core values.
- Commit up to 2‑3 days per week to these responsibilities, with the rest spent on technical projects.
- Dedication to fostering a respectful, diverse and inclusive workplace.
- Experience building and retaining a diverse workforce while mentoring and coaching talent.
- Track record of exceeding financial KPIs and driving business growth.
- Effective communication, interpersonal, presentation and negotiation skills.
- Flexible and proactive, able to adapt to changing circumstances.
- Experience leading teams to deliver project outcomes across a range of sectors and travel modes from policy development to evaluation.
- Success in implementing change programs and managing data‑driven performance improvements.
- Expertise in transport technology procurement and advisory, design/specification or operations.
- Membership of a recognised professional body in an appropriate discipline.
- Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in an appropriate discipline.
