Cardiff and Vale College is seeking to appoint a Clerk to the Corporation who will ensure the effective operation of the College's governance framework, providing independent advice and administrative support to the Corporation and its Committees.
About the RoleAs Clerk to the Corporation, you will:
- Advise the Corporation on governance, regulatory compliance, and constitutional matters.
- Ensure the effective operation of the Board and its Committees, including planning agendas, preparing papers, minuting meetings, and maintaining accurate records.
- Support Governors through efficient communication, induction, training coordination and ongoing development.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation, the College's Instrument and Articles of Government, and regulatory frameworks.
- Oversee governance policies, procedures, and reporting requirements, ensuring transparency and accountability in all governance processes.
- Work closely with the Chair and Principal to plan the annual governance cycle and ensure timely delivery of all statutory responsibilities.
- Promote the values, reputation and strategic ambitions of Cardiff and Vale College at all times in both internal and external interactions.
- Leverage technology and digital tools, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), to streamline governance processes, take accurate meeting notes, manage documentation, and improve overall efficiency.
- Work flexibly in accordance with a fluctuating workload demand.
- Promote and embrace the Welsh language and culture in the work of the Corporation – an ability to speak Welsh is desirable.
