Registered Managerto lead oursmall, 6-bed learning disability and mental health residential home in Ely, Cardiff. This is oursole service, supported by asmall, dedicated staff team, offering a rare opportunity to have genuine ownership, autonomy, and influence over how the service is run. You will be a visible, approachable leader, working closely with residents and staff to maintain a warm, stable, and person-centred home.
As a small service, we value managers who remain connected to the day-to-day running of the home. While your primary focus will be leadership, quality, and compliance, there may be occasional occasions where you support the team operationally for example, stepping in during short-term staff sickness to ensure continuity of care. This is aboutleading by example and supporting your team, not routinely filling rota gaps.
Key Responsibilities Overall leadership and management of a 6-bed learning disability and mental health residential service Acting as the Registered Manager in line with
Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW) regulations and standards Promoting a positive, person-centred, and respectful culture Leading, supporting, and developing a small, committed staff team Maintaining high standards of care, compliance, and safeguarding Working closely with residents, families, professionals, and external agencies Completing audits, reports, and quality assurance processes Supporting the team operationally when required to ensure continuity of care
What Were Looking For Qualified and ready to register (or already registered) with Social Care Wales Experience managing or leading services for adults with learning disabilities and/or mental health needs A hands-on, approachable leader who enjoys being close to the service Flexible and solution-focused, with a strong sense of responsibility and ownership Confident communicator, comfortable working directly with Directors Strong understanding of regulatory compliance and quality improvement Someone who thrives in a small service where relationships really matter Why Join Us?
