Senior Client Manager​/Accountant

Apex are currently representing a highly recognisable and well-regarded Accountancy & Advisory firm based in Cardiff.

With a strong regional presence and an established reputation for quality and client care, the firm is entering an exciting period of sustained growth and strategic development.

As part of their long‑term succession planning, they are now seeking an experienced Practice Manager who will play a pivotal leadership role — with a clearly defined fast‑track to Director level.

Reporting directly to the Partners, you will take responsibility for the operational and commercial performance of the practice, ensuring scalability, efficiency and continued excellence in client delivery.

Key responsibilities include:

• Driving process improvement and operational efficiencies
• Supporting fee growth and profitability
• Leading and developing senior managers and wider team members
• Working closely with Partners on strategic planning and future growth
• Enhancing reporting, systems and internal controls
• Contributing to client retention and business development initiatives

We are seeking an ambitious and commercially astute accountant / leader who is ready to step into a broader strategic remit.

You will likely be:

• Currently operating at Senior Manager / Practice Manager level within an accountancy practice
• Commercially aware with strong operational oversight
• An effective leader with experience managing multi-disciplinary teams
• Motivated by progression to Director level

Experience with in a growing or change‑led environment would be highly advantageous.
