Senior Managing Cost Manager – Wales
As part of our continued growth in the Wales region, we are seeking an experienced Senior Managing Cost Manager. This key leadership role will oversee commercial oversight, client engagement, and team development for complex, cutting‑edge projects across advanced technology, data centre, and infrastructure sectors. Flexible working arrangements are available.
Responsibilities- Lead the delivery of cost and commercial management services across complex programmes, including data centres and mission‑critical facilities.
- Provide strategic cost advice throughout the full project lifecycle, from feasibility to final account.
- Act as a senior client interface, developing and maintaining trusted relationships with key stakeholders.
- Take ownership of project commercial performance, ensuring robust cost control, forecasting, and risk management.
- Support business development activities, including bids, proposals and client presentations.
- Contribute to the growth of the Wales business, including capability development and team expansion.
- Collaborate across disciplines and regions to deliver integrated, value‑driven solutions.
- Mentor and develop junior team members, fostering a high‑performance and inclusive culture.
- Ensure consistent application of best practice, governance, and commercial processes.
- Promote the AtkinsRéalis Cost Management capability in the regional marketplace.
- Chartered status (MRICS or equivalent).
- Extensive experience in cost management of high‑value projects, ideally including data centres or mission‑critical environments.
- Proven ability to manage commercial delivery across pre‑ and post‑contract stages.
- Experience in contract administration (e.g., NEC and/or standard UK forms).
- Demonstrated capability in client‑facing roles and stakeholder management.
- Strong understanding of the Welsh and wider UK construction market.
- Track record in winning work and supporting business growth.
- Excellent commercial awareness, analytical skills and attention to detail.
