Cardiff is proud to host the opening match and five further fixtures of UEFA EURO 2028, welcoming hundreds of thousands of fans and placing our capital city on the global stage. This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase Cardiff's ambition, creativity and world renowned Welsh welcome. To deliver an event of this scale and significance, Cardiff Council is building a high-performing team and is seeking an experienced Senior Manager, City Operations to provide strategic leadership and oversee the planning and delivery of the city's operational programme.
This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in one of the largest sporting events ever hosted in Wales and help create a lasting legacy for Cardiff and its communities.
As Senior Manager, City Operations, you will lead the planning, coordination and delivery of the operational programme that will ensure Cardiff is ready to host UEFA EURO 2028. You will be responsible for bringing together critical city services, ensuring the safe, efficient and seamless operation of the city before, during and after the tournament. Working collaboratively with UEFA, UK & Ireland 2028, emergency services, transport providers, partner organisations and Council services, you will coordinate operational planning across mobility and transport, safety and security, business continuity and city operations.
You will ensure Cardiff fulfils its Host City obligations while delivering an exceptional experience for residents, visitors, businesses and stakeholders.
We're looking for a strategic and collaborative leader with proven experience of delivering large scale, complex programmes or major events. You will have excellent partnership, stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to lead multi-agency teams, manage operational risk and deliver high quality outcomes within demanding timescales. UEFA EURO 2028 is a once in a generation opportunity to help shape Cardiff's future.
