About the role

To lead, motivate and develop a team of IQAs to drive performance and quality of delivery across all learning programmes in line with contract compliance, ensuring high-quality teaching, learning and assessment for all learners.

Responsible for ensuring the company’s Internal Quality Assurance and Performance Management processes are rigorous and lead to continuous improvement, improved learner satisfaction and success rates across the team.

Your impact

  • Accountable for management of the IQA teams’ function, processes and systems as well as IQA duties to complement and assist the timely achievement of qualifications
  • Responsible for assuring the quality requirements of the business and awarding bodies
  • Responsible for motivating and developing a team of IQAs to meet the needs of the business, and ensuring compliance with Awarding body, QCA, Sector Skills Council, the NVQ Code of Practice and the JAB guidance on Internal Verification.
  • Responsible for fully engaging and working alongside the Contract Manager communicating information and highlighting any support needs or concerns within the team and highlight areas of best practice, cost effectiveness and impact on contract achievement.
  • Responsible for the allocation of IQA workload and efficient day to day management of the IQA diary.
  • Understand planned profiles each month, planning to ensure the profiles are achieved.
  • Responsible for managing, planning, and completing observations of Assessors to ensure the IQA strategy is met as well as business objectives for continuous improvement.
  • Accountable for the development of resources and learning materials to support a wide range of vocational and learning needs
  • Responsible for managing the IQA team to work with other key employees in the assisting, organising and planning of SV visits; managing and plan standardisation activities; running of standardisation meetings and sharing best practice across all sectors
  • Responsible for creating, managing, sampling plans and verification activities to improve the progression and achievement of learners and to ensure consistency across the team in a cost effective and efficient manner.
  • Setting, measuring and review of individual/team KPIs and performance targets
  • Provide support to team members to ensure their effectiveness
  • Conduct team reviews and appraisals

What are we looking for?

  • Assessor qualification or equivalent
  • IQA qualification or equivalent
  • Relevant occupational competence
  • Experience of delivering training and support
  • Management / Supervisory experience
  • Experience and a proven track record of leading people
  • Full driving licence with use of own vehicle
  • Having a conscientious and self-disciplined approach to independent working
  • Willing to travel to fulfil the requirements of the role
  • In depth knowledge of Apprenticeship programmes including framework requirements, IQA processes and assessment methods
  • In depth knowledge of Awarding Organisation requirements
  • In depth knowledge of Estyn Inspection requirements
  • Experience of co-ordinating EQA visits
  • Been actively involved in an Estyn Inspection
  • Fluent Welsh Speaker
