Suicide & Self Harm Prevention Co-ordinator (SWTRA)

At SWTRA, we help create a road network that connects people and places in a safer, greener and more reliable way. We work on projects across South Wales that address some of the country's most critical challenges. From complex infrastructure, increasing transport needs, and climate change - we combine innovation, expertise, and technology to make South Wales a better place to live, work and visit.

You can contribute to work that will have a lasting positive impact on your local community with an organisation where diversity, equity and inclusion are shared values. We're committed to fostering a work environment that's supportive, respectful and inclusive, with great opportunities for growth. Why not give it a try? We would be very happy to consider your application to join our skilled, enthusiastic and friendly team.

Responsibilities

To represent and facilitate a consistent, data-driven, and collaborative approach to suicide and self-harm prevention across the Strategic Road Network in Wales including both Trunk Road Agents (SWTRA and NMWTRA). This involves ensuring that interventions are evidence-based, that best practices are shared and applied, and that all stakeholders—including the Police, NHS Wales, and local authorities, work together effectively to reduce incidents and improve outcomes for vulnerable individuals.

The role requires a combination of behavioural insight, data capability, stakeholder management and an understanding of policy and operational contexts. The work is complex, involving multi-agencies dealing with sensitive topics.

This is a pan-Wales role, representing and supporting Welsh Government SRN division to identify and manage locations of concern on the strategic road network. Working across stakeholders, the aim is to improve the evidence base and information which will help inform interventions, to support Welsh Government, both Trunk Road Agents and supply chains to develop proportionate plans.
