Job Summary

The main role of the Customer Service Coordinator is to ensure that incoming and outgoing parts are accurately booked in and out and released to the customer in a timely manner and with the appropriate documentation. They are also responsible for supporting Quality and Production activities by ensuring new product requirements are in place prior to being introduced into the company for processing.

The activities associated with this role are integral to the company’s production output and are vital to supporting our commitment to quality and providing outstanding plating treatments and service to our customers.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
  • To book in customer orders onto our job processing system
  • Contract review of incoming work, including maintaining order identification and traceability
  • To ensure the interpretation of customer/drawing requirements and the dissemination of this information to operators responsible for work
  • To liaise with customers over confirmation of order requirements and quality issues as required
  • To plan and accurately record process layouts/routings, quality plans/data cards and specification test regimes for both new product integration and engineering change jobs, ensuring the accurate collation of quality, technical and commercial information
  • To maintain a satisfactory level of cleanliness and order within the booking‑out area
  • To perform other duties as may be assigned by the line manager or as per the requirements of the business.

    • Accuracy of collating information to aid the smooth integration of new product/sales order into production planning procedures.
    Individual Requirements, Knowledge & Experience Requirements
    • Read, understand, and successfully interpret customer orders, including all incoming and outgoing documentation
    • Efficient and effective working – managing time to prioritise deadlines
    • Good interpersonal and communication skills – working with others to provide information they need to complete tasks and eliminate production delays
    • Ability to work as part of a team – working flexibly and collaboratively to solve problems and exceed departmental targets
    • Ability to follow and work within procedure - exercising sound judgement at all times; suggesting appropriate improvements to support team delivery
    • Sound literacy and numerical skills
    • Personal ownership and responsibility - being professional, punctual, consistent and reliable
    Knowledge
    • Working knowledge within a manufacturing/production environment (desirable but not essential)
    • Ability to take direction, learn and apply knowledge in a changing operating environment.
    Experience
    • Customer Service Experience in manufacturing/production sector role (desirable but not essential)
    • Experience dealing with a large customer base
    • Experience working in a changing operational environment.
