Operations Supervisor

Position Summary

The (Senior) Operations Supervisor will support the set-up of the end-to-end production operations within the manufacturing facility to achieve productivity targets and objectives in a reliable, efficient and cost-effective manner, and meeting Quality and Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) regulations and other regulatory standards.

The (Senior) Operations Supervisor is a First Line Leader (FLL) serving the following key functions:

• Management / Supervisory of the team of biotechnologists
  • Leading the team in completion of operation steps, delivery of batches and project deliverables
  • Provide guidance to the team of biotechnologists
  • Take sound technical decisions with respect to process issues occurring on the shopfloor
• First Line Technical Expertise
  • Provide technical expertise on the shopfloor to the team of biotechnologists
  • Assist in troubleshooting and investigation of issues that happened on the shopfloor
  • Ensure the development of technical competency of biotechnologists

• Responsible to support the set-up of the end-to-end production operations within the future manufacturing facility.
• Adhere to cGMP and safety requirements
• Identify areas for improvement and participate in continuous improvement projects to enhance operational effectiveness and efficiency
• Ensure the morale, discipline and wellbeing of the team are well managed and taken care of
• Ensure team performance in delivering project deliverables
• Participate in new technology and / or new process transfer
• Quality and timeliness of project delivery and tasks completion
• Ensure safe and secure operations in the facility
• Ensure that all biotechnologists are trained in accordance to the training matrix
• To provide support and guidance to new joiner, ensuring their smooth transition to the new environment

• Minimum Diploma in engineering or science related disciple
• Minimum 10 years of experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing plant as manufacturing technician or graduate with minimum 4 years of relevant working experience
• Basic understanding of current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP), Safety (biosafety), regulatory and legal requirements as applied to pharmaceuticals manufacturing
• Knowledge and hands-on experiences of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes and equipment with good troubleshooting skills
• Ability to facilitate business activities with good people management skills, conflict management skills, team building skills, organization skills, project management skills, and continuous improvement mindset.
