Position Overview:

Love working as part of a team but don’t enjoy sitting behind a computer all day? Love getting stuck in and don’t mind getting your hands dirty? If so and you’re interested in operating mobile plant machinery we believe we have the perfect opportunity for you! We’re currently seeking a General Operative to join the small team at our Cardiff Concrete Plant.

• Pre start inspections of the static and mobile plant.
• Loading of our aggregate bins.
• Unloading of sand from our ship on the wharf.
• Loading of sand onto tippers for distribution to other sites.
• Loading of site production waste for disposal.
• Raw material stock and quality control.
• Basic plant maintenance.
• Ownership of the site yard and traffic control.
• General housekeeping duties.
• Enforcing site rules and procedures ensuring compliance.

• A full UK Driving Licence – owing to the location of the site you will need to be able to drive your own vehicle or otherwise be able to reliably get yourself to work on time.
• A genuine interest in the construction materials industry, specifically an interest in driving heavy mobile plant machinery.
• It would be great if you've already got experience operating a Loading Shovel and please let us know if you do! However for the right candidate we’ll also support your development with in‑role training; whereby you will achieve a Level 2 Plant Operations NVQ diploma qualification.
