We're looking for a Refractory Bricklayer to join our Kilns Department. This is a specialist, hands-on role where you'll be responsible for maintaining our kilns and kiln cars to a high standard, helping to ensure they operate safely, efficiently and reliably.

Hours of WorkMonday to Thursday: 7:00am – 3:30pm Friday: 7:00am – 1:00pm
£13.00 – £17.75 per hour, depending on experience.
About the RoleAs a Refractory Bricklayer, you'll inspect, repair and maintain kiln cars and kiln linings using refractory materials. You'll monitor refractory stock levels, maintain accurate records and help ensure the safe and reliable operation of our kilns.
Working as part of the Kilns Department, you'll play an essential role in maintaining equipment that is critical to the success of our operations.
Key Responsibilities- Inspect kiln cars regularly and carry out repairs using the appropriate refractory materials.
- Inspect, repair and maintain kiln linings as required.
- Monitor and record the use of refractory materials.
- Carry out stock checks and maintain adequate levels of refractory materials.
- Notify Kiln Management when additional refractory materials need to be ordered.
- Report any kiln car wheel issues and monitor kiln car wheel stock.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs and stock levels.
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with Health & Safety regulations and Company procedures.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.
- Support the department by carrying out other reasonable duties as required.
- Have a good standard of English and Maths.
- Have at least one year's experience working within a manufacturing environment.
- Be reliable, with good attendance and timekeeping.
- Take pride in producing work to a consistently high standard.
- Have excellent attention to detail and the ability to identify potential issues.
- Be able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Be flexible and willing to work reasonable overtime when required.
- Communicate openly and respectfully with colleagues and managers.
- Take ownership of your work and maintain high standards of housekeeping.
You'll receive full on-the-job training, including Manual Handling training and any refresher training required for the role.
