CNC Turner Machinist | CNC Turner | CNC Machinist

Cardiff | £16.94 per hour (£34,354.32 per annum) + Regular Overtime | Monday-Friday | 39 Hours per Week | Full-Time | Permanent | ASAP Start

Introduction

Acorn by Synergie is recruiting on behalf of a highly respected and long-established engineering and fabrication company based in Cardiff for an experienced CNC Turner Machinist
.

The ideal candidate will have experience with Siemens Sinumerik Shop Turn lathe programming.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join the client's repair and servicing workshop, where you'll set, program and operate CNC lathes, producing one-off and batch components for heavy industrial equipment.

What We Offer
  • £16.94 per hour (£34,354.32 per annum).
  • Overtime paid at time-and-a-half on weekdays and Saturdays.
  • Double time on Sundays.
  • 24 days' annual leave plus bank holidays.
  • Company pension scheme.
  • Early finish every Friday.
Hours of Work
  • Monday to Thursday, 8am-4:30pm.
  • Friday, 8am-3pm.
  • 39 basic hours per week.
Key Duties
  • Operate and set up CNC lathes to produce high-quality components.
  • Program directly from drawings using Siemens Sinumerik Shop Turn software.
  • Interpret technical drawings and follow specifications accurately.
  • Measure and inspect finished products to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Maintain machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Work within a skilled machine shop environment across various industries.
Requirements
  • Time-served Turner / Toolmaker with proven machining experience.
  • Proficiency in operating and setting up CNC lathes.
  • Experience programming Siemens Sinumerik Shop Turn software.
  • Confident ability to read and interpret geometric engineering drawings.
  • Experience with precision measurement techniques and inspection tools.
  • Understanding of equipment maintenance and care.
  • Strong attention to detail, organisational skills and problem-solving ability.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and procedures.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or machining environment.
  • Previous experience as a CNC Turner, Turning Machinist or CNC Turning Machinist
    .
