Theatr Iolo is an award‑winning theatre company which has been at the forefront of theatre for children and young people for almost forty years. Children and parents, pupils and teachers, babies and teenagers enjoy performances, workshops and productions from the company, performed in all kinds of spaces across Wales, the UK and internationally.
We are looking for a Marketing & Communications Manager to be responsible for devising and implementing all marketing, audience development and engagement strategies and campaigns for all aspects of the company’s work to deepen engagement and diversify our audience. Key responsibilities of the role Strategy- to develop and manage the Marketing Strategic Plan in line with Theatr Iolo’s Business Plan;
- to develop and deliver innovative and dynamic communication and audience development campaigns and tasks to promote all Theatr Iolo’s shows and activities, direct to venues, schools and audiences; building diverse audiences and relationships with people who may not have seen theatre before;
- to act as brand ambassador, overseeing the development of the Theatr Iolo brand and consistent use of it across all marketing and communications materials;
- to plan, manage and oversee gathering, recording and monitoring evaluation of audience and income targets, including compiling statistical reports for funders as required, in particular the Arts Council of Wales;
- to work closely with the Executive Director and the team to set and monitor financial targets and pricing structures;
- to devise and deliver engagement initiatives to deepen engagement with existing audiences, build new audiences and reach people of least engagement;
- to work with the team to devise and deliver wrap around events and activities to supplement the productions;
- to use data and audience development tools to support the team in ensuring the company’s work reaches local and national areas of least engagement with the arts;
- to build relationships with schools, engaging young people in the company’s programme of work;
- to develop and deliver a digital engagement strategy, working across all channels;
- to develop and extend the presence and visibility of Theatr Iolo;
- to ensure that the Theatr Iolo website and social media channels are at the leading edge, and offer the best and most efficient shop window for the full range of activities that Theatr Iolo offers;
- to expand the reach and impact of Theatr Iolo’s brand to influence fundraising and income generation opportunities;
- to generate regular, high quality information for use in a range of different formats, including media statements, direct mail, print, social media and email.
- to develop and maintain relationships with press and media contacts, generating positive coverage for Theatr Iolo’s activities and build a library of evidence related to our successes;
- to liaise with external consultants and agencies regarding production and distribution of print and other media;
- to manage all of Theatr Iolo’s events, including guest performances, and Theatr Iolo’s attendances at conferences and other events;
- to set, monitor and review research, audience insight and business intelligence;
- to provide written reports as necessary in relation to marketing, communications and audiences to increase organization insight and support future development;
- to monitor key developments and trends within the arts industry;
- to work with the Executive Director to ensure that appropriate data protection policies are in place and reviewed according to any changes in the law.
