The Senior SEO Specialist delivers high-quality, data-driven SEO strategies that improve visibility, engagement, and commercial performance for clients. They combine technical knowledge, strategic thinking, and strong analysis to drive measurable results.

As a senior practitioner, they take ownership of complex accounts, mentor others, and work closely with colleagues across the agency to deliver integrated performance. They are actively developing commercial and strategic capability through supported leadership in client forums.

Core responsibilities:
  • Lead day-to-day SEO strategy and delivery across assigned accounts and work streams.
  • Analyse performance, diagnose issues, and turn insight into practical recommendations.
  • Conduct technical audits, keyword research, and opportunity analysis to prioritise growth.
  • Translate client goals into actionable SEO plans with clear milestones and KPIs.
  • Translate performance data into clear optimisation actions that improve rankings, visibility, and organic traffic on assigned accounts.
  • Advise on technical, content, and authority improvements to drive performance.
  • Produce clear reporting and recommendations, focusing on what changed, why, and what we are doing next.
  • Actively develop consultant-ready capability by contributing to client calls and QSRs, with supported ownership where appropriate.
  • Provide coaching, peer review, and feedback to specialists and executives to raise standards.
  • Support best practice development through templates, processes, and quality checks.
  • Contribute to pitches, renewals, and proposals by providing channel insight, evidence, and recommendations.
  • Stay up to date with industry changes and translate them into delivery improvements.
  • Uphold Liberty’s delivery and quality standards in every aspect of work.
  • Own delivery quality and performance across complex SEO accounts and work streams.
  • Support client retention and renewal through consistent delivery and clear recommendations.
  • Identify opportunities for optimisation, efficiency, and process improvement.
  • Support team training, mentoring, and knowledge sharing to elevate capability.
  • Collaborate with Client Services, SEO, Paid Media, Content, Digital PR, and Social to align activity with wider campaigns and client objectives.
Skills & Experience
  • At least 4 years demonstrable experience of delivering successful SEO campaigns in an agency environment (essential).
  • Strong knowledge of technical SEO, on-page and off-page optimisation, and analytics.
  • Commercially minded, able to connect performance to client goals and outcomes.
  • Confident communicator who builds trust with clients and colleagues.
  • Highly organised and proactive, able to manage priorities across multiple work streams.
  • Collaborative across disciplines, supporting integrated planning and delivery.
  • Analytical and solutions-focused, turning insight into clear recommendations.
  • Actively developing consultant-ready capability through client exposure and supported leadership in calls and QBRs.
