Support people experiencing homelessness to move forward

This charity delivers outreach services to people experiencing homelessness across Cardiff, including street-based outreach, accommodation support and community-based floating support.

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Outreach Specialist Support Worker to join the First Response Assertive Outreach Service
, providing flexible and responsive support to individuals who are rough sleeping or at immediate risk of homelessness.

You will work as part of a specialist outreach team to:

• Deliver assertive, street-based and on-foot outreach across Cardiff
• Provide consistent, compassionate support to individuals in crisis
• Respond quickly to newly homeless people
• Enable rapid access to housing and specialist support services
• Support people to build hope, motivation and a pathway away from homelessness
• This is a hands‑on role within a 7‑day outreach service, requiring flexibility and resilience.

You will bring:

• A strong commitment to supporting vulnerable people
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Integrity, accountability and a person‑centred approach
• The ability to work flexibly and as part of a team
• Excellent knowledge of housing, homelessness and related complex social issues
• You will be happy to work from an office, while also being out and about on the streets of Cardiff
• Willing to work days and spending a few hours out a couple of evenings per week
• A DBS on the update service and access to your own vehicle
