Support Legal Action Group (LAG) in championing access to justice

Legal Action Group (LAG) is a national charity dedicated to promoting access to justice for all – especially for people who are disadvantaged or marginalised. We’re currently looking for a volunteer to support our social media and communications work.

This is a great opportunity for someone interested in legal issues, digital communications, or the non-profit sector to build experience and contribute to meaningful, purpose-driven work.

About the role

Location:

Remote or hybrid

Time commitment: 5 hours per week minimum

Expenses:
Agreed travel and meal expenses will be covered

As a Social Media Volunteer, you’ll help us grow our online presence and engage audiences with LAG’s work, which includes legal publishing, events and policy campaigns.

Key tasks

∙ Planning and scheduling social media posts across platforms

∙ Supporting the creation of a simple social media content calendar

∙ Promoting LAG events, books and campaigns

∙ Assisting with visual content using tools like Canva (if confident)

∙ Uploading speaker bios, images and links for event promotion

∙ Helping maintain a contact database for events and legal training

∙ Tracking social media performance and engagement

What we’re looking for

∙ An interest in social justice, law, publishing, or communications

∙ Familiarity with social media platforms (X, Linked In, Instagram, etc.)

∙ Clear communication and good organisational skills

∙ Proactive, reliable and happy to work independently with guidance

∙ Experience with Canva or other design tools is a bonus—but not essential

What you’ll gain

∙ Experience working in a respected national Non-profit

∙ Skills in digital marketing, communications and events promotion

∙ A flexible, supportive environment and the chance to make a real impact

∙ Insight into the legal publishing and access to justice sectors

∙ Opportunities to connect with professionals and speakers in the field
