About Us

Eryri National Park Authority (ENPA) protects the natural beauty, wildlife, and cultural heritage of Eryri National Park.

We are now looking for a Young People Officer to join us on a full-time basis, working 37 hours per week, for a two year fixed-term contract.

The Role

As a Young People Officer, you will lead the development of our Youth Manifesto and other existing youth programmes, to ensure we engage successfully with young people.

Our Youth Manifesto will empower 9 - 24 year olds to influence local climate, nature and cultural policies.

Working in partnership with ENPA staff and external partners, you will actively seek out and develop new opportunities for engaging young people in all aspects of our work.

You will lead and develop our Young Rangers Scheme, overseeing recruitment and promotional work whilst ensuring all health and safety requirements are met.

Additionally, you’ll develop links with local authority youth services, third sector youth organisations, accreditation schemes and other relevant groups to identify the most effective means of engaging young people.

Your role will also involve:

  • Creating a new trainee/apprentice scheme
  • Acting as a central point of contact for educational enquiries
  • Creating, establishing and leading an Eryri young people’s forum
  • Monitoring and evaluating the performance of groups
About You

To be considered as a Young People Officer, you will need:

  • The ability to communicate in Welsh and English
  • Experience working with young people and delivering programmes of youth engagement
  • Experience working in partnership with a range of organisations in youth work
  • Experience monitoring and evaluating the broad outcomes of youth engagement
  • To be educated to degree level or equivalent in a related subject or equivalent in work experience
  • A full, valid driving licence and access to a car
