Job Description & How to Apply Below
Tempest Charities are recruiting for a Senior Community Fundraiser based in Wales, on behalf of a well-known and highly respected national health research and support charity.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced community fundraiser ready to take the next step in their career, moving into a more senior relationship-focused role with real scope to make an impact.
What the role involves
At the heart of this role is relationship building. Approximately 50% is dedicated to a high-profile, nationally recognised retail partnership - working at store level across Wales to deepen engagement, inspire fundraising activity, and grow income through strong stakeholder relationships. This is a partnership that carries significant weight for the charity and the right person will play a central role in making it a success on the ground.
The remaining 50% focuses on developing a regional portfolio of new supporters - individuals, clubs, societies, and local businesses - managing mid to high value supporters and creating long-term fundraising relationships built on trust and excellent stewardship.
What they are looking for
Proven community or relationship fundraising experience, ready to step up into a more senior remit
A natural relationship builder - someone who genuinely connects with people and knows how to develop those connections into long-term partnerships
Track record of securing new fundraising opportunities from scratch and delivering income growth
Experience managing mid to high value supporters
Strong influencing and communication skills, face to face and remotely
Ability to achieve income targets and report on KPIs
Full clean driving licence and access to a vehicle - essential
Cardiff-based or strong knowledge of the surrounding area
Welsh language skills desirable but not essential
The detail
28 hours per week across 4 days. Hybrid working with 2 days in a Cardiff city centre office. 12-month fixed term contract with the potential to become permanent. Immediate start available
