At Llamau we believe that no young person or vulnerable woman should ever have to experience homelessness. Our mission is to eradicate homelessness for young people and vulnerable women. But for thousands of the most vulnerable people in Wales, homelessness is a frightening reality.

30 years ago Llamau was founded to provide homeless teenagers with a safe place to stay. Since then, we have supported over 67,000 young people, women and their children who are either homeless or facing homelessness.

Many people think the job of a homelessness charity will be to provide accommodation - a safe place to stay. But it is very clear to us that for most people who are facing homelessness, their problems are far more complex than a lack of permanent shelter.

That's why we treat everyone who needs our support as an individual. We recognise their unique strengths and needs and make sure that they are supported to rebuild their futures.

Role Description

This on-site full-time role is based in Cardiff, where the Marketing and Communications Manager will lead Llamau's long form content creation and media activity to support the delivery of Llamau's marketing and communications strategy. The individual will also lead projects, ensure consistent organisational messaging, and contribute to raising awareness of homelessness and Llamau’s mission.

Essential experience
  • At least two years’ experience working in a marketing and communications role
  • Experience of content planning and creation for a range of channels
  • Experience of working with beneficiaries to turn their stories into engaging content
  • Experience of planning and creating films
  • Experience of securing proactive and reactive media coverage for a charity or business
  • Experience of developing and managing effective working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including journalists, external agencies, suppliers and colleagues across the organisation
  • Experience of reporting against objectives and KPIs and measuring the success of marketing and communications activity
  • Experience of copywriting
