- 5.6 weeks holiday pro rata Our client has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) which is a muscle-wasting condition that causes progressive muscle weakness. As a result, they are a full-time electric wheelchair user. Some of their interests include watching football, rugby, playing video games and watching films such as Lord of the Rings, Star Wars and Blade Runner. You will provide our client with health and social care.

This is a "flatmate" type of role which goes far beyond simply care work, and includes all the fun things you'd expect from life, like getting out and about to see friends and exploring new places. Care experience is not required as full training in our client's particular requirements will be provided. Written by our client: I am easy going and easy to get along.

My hobbies include music, TV and Video games. I am interested in a wide variety of music and like to write my own music. I also play guitar. I like to go to clubs and concerts with friends to listen to music. I do also like to be spontaneous so when I decide to do these things it could be quite last minute.

My condition means that I have to use a wheelchair as I cant walk to get myself around and I need help getting in and out of it using a hoist. However, once I am in my wheelchair, I am able to get around independently.

About You:

For this role, we are looking for a person with a good sense of humour, who is physically fit, calm, patient and caring. Additionally, they will:

-Possess great organisational skills and the ability to work on their own initiative
-A mature and responsible attitude
-Great communication skills
-To be fluent in English.

-To be clean and tidy in both your appearance and ways.

-A clean UK driving licence, as you will be driving our client's adapted automatic car (Essential) Duties will include:

-Personal care and social support;

-Health Care
-Daily Living cooking
-Domestic duties cleaning, ironing, washing etc
-Maintain good order, appearance and behaviour. The exact duties will be agreed upon with the successful candidate by our client to ensure they make the best use of the PAs skills and talents.
