As a theatre nurse, you are a registered nurse who specialises in caring for patients before, during and after surgery. This role involves preparing patients for the operation, assisting them during the procedure, and providing post‑operative care. Theatre nurses work across the NHS and private sector to support surgical teams and patients.

The average salary for a theatre nurse is around £35,000. Entry‑level nurses on the NHS start at band 5, ranging between £27,000 and £33,000 depending on experience. Private organisations may offer a higher pay rate.
