In this pivotal role, you'll play an essential part in ensuring prompt diagnoses for patients on an Urgent Suspected Cancer (USC)/Straight To Test (STT) pathway, offering compassionate care and unwavering support to those on suspected cancer journeys.

This is a perfect opportunity for individuals with colorectal or general surgical experience who aspire to specialise further and enhance their expertise in a rewarding field. The post holder will be responsible for the assessment and triage of colorectal referrals, identifying patients suitable for the STT pathway in line with agreed protocols and clinical guidelines. The Triage Nurse will review and act upon investigation results within their scope of practice, escalating any concerns or results to senior colleagues which fall outside of their scope of practice, while also serving as the main point of contact for patients navigating the pathway.

They will conduct initial telephone and face-to-face assessments, gathering clinical history and evaluating symptoms to determine appropriate clinical management.
