Associate; Stud Lambourn

Due to an expanding client base, an exciting opportunity has arisen with Rossdales Veterinary Surgeons for a dedicated veterinary surgeon to join our stud team at our Lambourn Practice. This exciting role offers the opportunity to work alongside some of the Thoroughbred breeding community’s most prestigious stud farms and horses. In addition, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience and exposure to horses in training, as well as the sport horse side of the practice.

This position is offered as a 12-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave. However, due to the continued growth of the Practice, there may be the opportunity for the position to become a permanent full-time role.

This is a full-time role working 49 hours per week, 08:00 to 18:00 Monday to Friday and 08:00 to 12:00 Saturday. The role will also include contribution to the out of hours on-call service. Others hours, including Bank Holidays, may be required in accordance with the Practice needs.

Our Lambourn Practice is supported by Rossdales Laboratories, and our Equine Hospital, Diagnostic Centre and Medical Intensive Care Unit for a seamless referral for diagnostic, surgical and medical procedures.

The successful candidate will be able to take advantage of an excellent CPD package which promotes learning both externally and with access to the internationally renowned Rossdales CPD programmes.

The ideal candidate will be registered, or eligible to register, with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) and have a minimum of one year’s postgraduate equine experience, ideally including completion of an equine internship. You will be a highly motivated and conscientious clinician with excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality patient and client care. The ability to remain calm and effective under pressure, work collaboratively as part of a team, and integrate seamlessly with our multidisciplinary specialist team is essential.

Excellent client management skills, together with strong and accurate verbal and written communication, are key to success in this role.

Salary will be commensurate with experience.
