This is an excellent opportunity for a quality professional with a strong background in cladding, façades, building envelope or structural steel to take responsibility for quality assurance and quality control across key construction packages.
The successful candidate will work closely with the project and site management teams, main contractor, consultants and client to ensure all works are delivered to the required quality standards and in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, manufacturer requirements and relevant industry standards.
This role of Q&A Manager is for an immediate start up until mid-2027 and beyond.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and implement the project's Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) procedures.
Develop, implement and maintain Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) for cladding and structural steel activities.
Carry out regular site inspections to monitor workmanship, materials and compliance.
Ensure construction activities are completed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications and manufacturer requirements.
Identify, record and manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), ensuring corrective actions are implemented and closed out.
Monitor subcontractors, suppliers and installation teams to ensure required quality standards are consistently maintained.
Review material approvals, technical submissions, test certificates and installation records.
Maintain comprehensive and accurate quality documentation and inspection records.
Work closely with Site Management and Project Management teams to identify and resolve quality issues.
Liaise with the client, consultants, main contractor and other project stakeholders on all quality-related matters.
Assist with internal and external audits and support compliance with ISO 9001 and project-specific quality management systems.
Ensure all required quality documentation is completed and maintained for project handover and close-out.
Support continuous improvement across the project, identifying opportunities to improve quality, compliance and installation standards.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will ideally have proven experience working within cladding, façade, building envelope or structural steel, together with a strong understanding of construction QA/QC processes.
You should have experience working with main contractors, consultants and clients on major commercial or construction projects and be confident managing quality documentation, inspections, audits and non-conformances.
Experience with the following would be highly beneficial:
ISO 9001 quality management systems and auditing.
Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
Site inspections and quality audits.
Technical submissions and material approvals.
Construction drawings and specifications.
Manufacturer installation requirements.
Structural steel and/or cladding installation.
Project handover and quality documentation.
Working collaboratively with site and project management teams.
Qualifications & Certifications
The following qualifications would be advantageous:
NVQ Level 6/7 in Construction Management, Quality Management or a related discipline.
HNC/HND in Construction, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related subject.
ISO 9001 Internal Auditor or Lead Auditor qualification - highly desirable.
CQI (Chartered Quality Institute) qualification or membership - advantageous.
CSCS card appropriate to the role.
SMSTS - desirable.
NEBOSH or IOSH - advantageous but not essential.
Recognised QA/QC or Quality Management qualifications.
Good knowledge of relevant British Standards, construction regulations and industry specifications.

£300-£400 per day, depending on experience.
