Strategic Land Manager

Join Barratt Redrow as a Strategic Land Manager and play a key role in identifying and sourcing prime locations for new developments. In a fast‑moving, highly competitive market, you will be responsible for securing and developing high‑quality land assets that drive our growth and meet Divisional targets.

What you’ll be doing
  • Identify new development opportunities through statutory plans, housing land audits, change‑of‑use reviews, and extensive agent networks.
  • Negotiate terms, secure sites, and manage due diligence, offers, legal processes, and internal approvals.
  • Promote the strategic land bank, appoint and manage external consultants, and coordinate with technical, sales, and other internal functions.
  • Monitor the land portfolio against national and local planning policy to uncover opportunities and risks.
  • Assist in preparing planning applications and appeals.
  • Keep landowners and agents fully informed and updated regularly.
  • Coordinate the viability process and agree land values with owners and agents.
  • Promote and uphold Barratt Redrow’s values, systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Undertake community engagements as required.
What you’ll need
  • Excellent understanding of the planning system and national and local policy.
  • Familiarity with all legal and contractual aspects of the land process.
  • A proven track record of successfully promoting land through the planning system.
  • Qualification to degree standard in a relevant subject such as Planning or Surveying, or equivalent experience.
  • Sound geographical knowledge of the area.
  • Ability to work independently, taking ownership of projects.
  • Clear, articulate, credible communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Excellent negotiation and influencing skills; a confident and professional networker.
  • Innovative thinker, driven to seek new development opportunities.
  • Extensive contact base within the industry.
