Overview
The Wales Centre for Public Policy at Cardiff Business School invites applications for a maternity cover Research Associate (part-time 17.5 hours per week, 0.5 FTE) for up to 12 months, with potential extension. The post is internal Applicants Only and focuses on researching the role of evidence in policy-making and evidence mobilisation, contributing to projects that inform public services and Welsh Government.
This fixed-term position offers the opportunity to conduct research that contributes to the academic literature on evidence-informed policy and to work on projects commissioned by the Welsh Government and/or public services.
Responsibilities- Conduct research on the use of evidence in policy-making and practices of evidence mobilisation.
- Collaborate with experienced researchers within the Centre on studies informing its approach to working with public services and the Welsh Government and assessing impact.
- Disseminate research findings to external audiences with clear communication and organisational skills.
- Good understanding of public policy and the ability to work with public service leaders.
- Commitment to high-quality policy-relevant research.
- Strong communication and organisational skills; ability to disseminate findings to external audiences.
- Part-time post: 17.5 hours per week (0.5 FTE).
- Fixed-term maternity cover from 24 August 2026 (or as soon as possible) for up to 12 months, or until 23 August 2027. Secondment may be considered.
- Salary: £41,064 – £46,049 per annum, pro rata for hours worked (Grade
6).
