Research Assistant (Internal Applicants Only)
Division of Cancer & Genetics, School of Medicine, College of Biomedical and Life Sciences – Cardiff University.
Responsibilities- Liaise with researchers applying to use the biosample resource and assist with the management of research applications to ensure robust project tracking is maintained.
- Undertake data collection and data entry duties, extracting relevant medical information from clinical electronic systems and executing queries to match sample requests to inventory.
- Talk to cancer patients to gain their consent for the WCB to access and store biosamples for cancer related research, working with patients, healthcare professionals, laboratory staff and cancer researchers.
- Work independently, meeting deadlines and planning, organising own workload efficiently.
- Currently employed by Cardiff University with a valid contract of employment.
- Experience or skills in data management, clinical data extraction, or research administration will be advantageous.
- Excellent interpersonal and team working skills, able to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in planning and organising workload, working independently, and meeting deadlines.

£33,951 – £36,636 per annum (Grade
5). Appointment usually made at the bottom of the scale, except in exceptional circumstances.
Fixed term for 2 years, available immediately.
