PhD opportunity in our research group at Cardiff University
We are recruiting a PhD student for an exciting interdisciplinary project:
“From Risk Genes to Biomarkers in Schizophrenia:
Striatal–Immune Signatures for Patient Stratification”
The project will investigate how genetic risk for schizophrenia translates into cell-type-specific changes in striatal and neuroimmune systems. It combines statistical genetics, single-cell data, UK Biobank analyses and experimental validation using CRISPR-based approaches and stem-cell models.
This opportunity would suit candidates with a background in biomedical science, biochemistry, cell biology or a related discipline who are interested in psychiatric genetics, neuroscience, immunology and translational research. Previous research experience is not essential.
Cardiff University, School of Medicine
Open to applicants of all nationalities
Self-funded or externally sponsored, three-year PhD
