At the Laguna Kitchen & Bar, our approach is simple, source the freshest ingredients, take the best chefs and serve in contemporary surroundings.

The Park Plaza Hotel Cardiff is a 4-star deluxe hotel located in the heart of the city. The hotel offers 129 state-of-the-art guestrooms, a 120-seater Brassiere style restaurant, a busy bar; modern meeting and event facilities accommodating up to 150 guests for dinner, the Kuku Club for private hire and the luxurious Laguna Health & Spa.

As Senior Sous Chef
, you will serve as the right hand to the Head Chef, ensuring seamless kitchen operations and integrating the best practices you have learnt during your career.

Responsibilities
  • Deputising in the absence of the Head Chef
  • Ensure that every dish in prepared and executed to the highest standards.
  • Menu planning and costing
  • Precise ordering to ensure full menu availability and minimum wastage.
  • Ongoing training of the brigade
  • Delegating and supervising staff
  • Maintaining H&S, Food Hygiene including HACCP standards and procedures
  • Promoting all aspects of our food business.
Qualifications
  • Extensive culinary experience with a strong background in food preparation and cooking
  • Proven leadership skills in a kitchen environment
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and practices
  • Experience in supervising and managing kitchen teams
  • Familiarity with restaurant operations and serving techniques
  • Ability to maintain high standards of hospitality and food production

Ideally you will already be working as a Sous Chef but looking for more responsibility and the opportunity to develop your skills and work in a £1.5 + million turnover food environment.

We are able to offer a very competitive remuneration package, including a share of service charge payable via Tronc Master, career growth and a work environment which is both vibrant and fast moving.
