Main Purpose of the Role - To provide operational & leadership support for the Starbucks’ & other Catering Outlets
£12.71 per hour / 10-15 hours per week. Hours are estimated at 10–15 per week but are not guaranteed and may fluctuate based on trade requirements.
You must also be a student for the full 2025/26 & 2026/27 academic year to be considered.
Main Duties- To ensure that staff serve all customers quickly and efficiently, meeting set departmental standards
- To maintain excellent customer service at all times with the aim to exceed customer expectations
- To be responsible and accountable for all stock in your sales area
- To deal with any customer queries or complaints and pass on to a Duty Manager when appropriate
- To ensure that all parts of the catering unit are clean and tidy at all times
- To be aware of and brief all staff on for each shift including details of set promotions and any relevant event information
- To take an active role in training all members of staff in accordance with departmental & Starbucks specifications
- To be aware of current promotions and special offers, upselling where appropriate
- To adhere to all company policies and procedures
- To adhere to all our food policy
- To be responsible for your own Health & Safety and observe all regulations in relation to the Health & Safety at Work Act.
- To be proactive in your approach to all tasks and duties undertaken whilst working within the Venues
- Outside of your Shift Leader responsibilities, you may be required to work as a Venues Assistant. Please be aware that this role carries its own specific rate of pay of £12.21 per hour.
- To carry out any other reasonable tasks as directed by Managers
- Help create a positive and encouraging work environment for all staff
- To inform Direct Reports of any wrong doings or inappropriate behaviour
- To attend training sessions at the commencement of your role, when new product specifications are released or when any procedural changes are made.
- To attend individual and group meetings throughout the year aimed at addressing the following:
- Reviewing procedures
- Giving ideas on improvements
- Performance reviews
- General updates
- To be responsible for all stock in the Starbucks catering unit and in its stores whilst on shift
- To ensure that trading areas are secured at the end of each day / trading period
- To ensure staff compliance to all company policies, procedures and Starbucks product specifications.
- To be responsible for your own Health & Safety and observe all regulations in relation to the Health & Safety at Work Act.
- Staff are encouraged to maximise the Company Environmental & Ethical policies
The Job Purpose should remain constant but Duties and Responsibilities may vary over time within the overall role and level of the post, according to the needs of the business. The job holder should retain a flexible approach to duties and be prepared to undertake such tasks that from time to time may be required by their Line Manager.
All Starbucks Shift Leaders will be subject to a probationary review period, with role confirmation dependent on evidence of successful training and performance schedule completion.
Person Specification- You must have previous barista experience and evidence this in your application,
- Experience lone working, and/ or working in a manager/ supervisor role, and evidence this in your application,
- You must also be a student for the full 2025/26 & 2026/27 academic year to be considered.
- Please note, you must be available to attend the training day on Thursday 16 th April 10:00-12:00.
